Jaws Unleashed is a 2006 action-adventurevideo game inspired by the 1975 film Jaws. It was developed by Appaloosa Interactive and published by Majesco Entertainment. The game features open world gameplay, with the player assuming control of a large great white shark and being able to roam freely throughout the water, feeding on other animals and humans, while destroying everything in its path. Jaws Unleashed was released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox and PlayStation 2.
Plot[edit]
30 years after the events of the first film, Amity Island is growing, making corporate connections with prestigious companies like Environplus to improve the island's economy. The increased population around the island and industrial activity has also attracted Earth's most fearsome creature and the game's main character: Jaws, an enormous, 35 ft (11 m) great white shark. When the son of Environplus CEO Steven Shaw is eaten by the ferocious beast, Shaw hires renowned shark hunter Cruz Raddock to track down and kill the shark. Meanwhile, marine biologist Michael Brody tries to capture the shark for research. Players are introduced to the controls and abilities of Jaws in a tutorial, where the player kills several divers, learns to attack swimmers at a beach, and must destroy a set of docks. Brody shows up at this point, captures Jaws, and transports him to Amity's marine theme park, similar to SeaWorld.
Jaws is put in a holding tank, where Brody, Vaughn, and Shaw argue about what to do with the shark. Shaw wants Jaws to be killed, as he killed his son and is endangering the beaches, whereas Mayor Vaughn wants to put the shark on display for tourists. After they leave, Jaws escapes from his holding tank and destroys the waterpark. In one of the exhibit tanks, Jaws kills the resident Orca. After this, the player is free to roam.
Brody tells the Mayor that his research has discovered that the subsonic frequencies emitted by Environplus's Seaseeker submarines are causing the sharks around Amity to become more aggressive and attack humans. The mayor brushes off Brody's complaint and decides to have the machines stay.
The shark finds his way into a beach party in the middle of the night, and attacks the swimmers. When a truck starts throwing explosive barrels in the water, Jaws grabs one, and throws it at a pipe line filled with oil. The barrel explodes, causing a chain reaction as the oil ignites that causes the entire Environplus refinery to catch fire and collapse into the ocean. After this, he causes more carnage, such as destroying an underwater facility, destroying an oil shipment, and killing Shaw and Mayor Vaughn by ramming his yacht into a barge filled with fireworks. Seeing this as the last straw, Cruz sets to blow up Jaws, but he is killed when his boat is destroyed. Brody drops a bomb over the wreckage of Cruz's boat, The Orca II. Assuming the shark is dead, Brody, aboard the Coast Guard helicopter, flies away, but Jaws reveals himself to be alive and begins to follow the helicopter.
Gameplay[edit]
In Jaws: Unleashed, the player assumes the role of the shark. The shark first enters the island from the southern end and the player finds itself in a cove. The cove has tutorials to allow the player to become familiar with the controls, such as the ones for moving the shark and attacking other creatures. The shark has a menu for upgrades as well. These can be accessed from either the main menu or the pause menu. Upgrade points are earned by causing destruction around Amity Island (in levels and in free-roam mode), completing levels, and/or collecting bonus items, the most frequently found of which being treasure chests. There are numerous upgrade criteria to choose from. Players can choose to upgrade the shark's power, speed, hunger, health, or accuracy. During gameplay, there is a HUD in the lower-right corner of the screen. This HUD has four meters and a sonar that informs players of the positions of important objects, prey, and enemies. The two parallel meters above the sonar are for Jaws' health (right side, red-colored), and hunger (left side, green-colored). As Jaws becomes hungry, its health will diminish, forcing the player to 'eat' constantly. The health bar will also diminish as Jaws takes damage. The last two meters are used to charge the shark's tail-whip and head-butt attacks. The more each meter fills, the stronger the attack is. The meters are on the left quadrant of the sonar, running along the arc with the head-butt meter on the outside and the tail-whip meter on the inside. The head-butt meter is orange when charging, flashing when fully charged, and is the same as the tail-whip meter, but it is purple instead of orange. Jaws has unique attacks in its arsenal. The shark can ram objects with its snout, whip others with its caudal tail, bite, and when the player earns enough points to upgrade Jaws' abilities, new attacks become unlocked, such as the 'corkscrew' and the 'body bomb.' To perform a corkscrew attack, the player must charge up the head-butt meter and tail-whip meter; head-butt first, then release the tail-whip button and the shark will spin around, causing damage to anything caught in its wake. To perform a body-bomb, they simply charge the head-butt meter, point the shark upward, release the movement button and the shark will fly up in the air, and smash back down.

Jaws Unleashed received 'mixed' reviews on all platforms according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[17][18][19] Most complaints against the game center around the game's glitches and freezing up and its camera problems.
Despite this, the game was a commercial success, selling over 250,000 copies on Xbox alone, therefore earning it GameSpot's 'Worst Game Everyone Played of 2006' award.[20]

License Plate And Tin Can Location Guide
Start a new game and enter 'shaaark' as a profile name to unlock all bonuses and get 300,000 points.
1 million pointsStart a new game and enter 'blooood' as a profile name.
Level selectCollect all 45 License Plates in Story mode to unlock the 'Level Select' option.
Infinite healthCollect all 50 hidden treasure chests outside of Story mode at the Open Ocean West, Open Ocean South, Open Ocean East, Grand Occasus Canals, Underwater Caves, and Fisherman's Isle. Save the game. When that saved game is resumed you will have unlimited health.
Body BombTo perform the Body Bomb, hold L to charge, then jump out of the water when near a boat. Release the Left Analog-stick and Jaws will jump out of the water and land on a boat and sink it.
Attacking swimmersWhen attacking a large number of swimmers trying to escape, attack them stealthily and drag them farther out so you have more time, then eat them. Additionally, if you grab a human, pull them deep underwater, let them go, then swim in circles around them, you will start to scare them as they resurface. Once they are at the surface, swim up onto them gently to lift them out of the water. You will scare them to death. This does not seem to kill humans that are on the surface already.
Jaws Unleashed For Mac
Launching objectsTry to grab mines, barrels, and buoys and launch them at your target. To launch an item, grab it and hold Charge. Release Charge to launch the item. This is very helpful for destroying objects in the game.
Sinking boatsGet someone in the water, then hold Black to grab onto them. Next, swim towards the side of the boat and press R. Note: You must have the special ability. This works best on small boats, but sometimes works on medium size boats if you have precise timing.
Jumping up on beachGrab someone with Black and go far back. Go towards the beach and when you are about to hit it, press R. You will fly up on the beach, sometimes very far. Note: You must have the special ability. Also, you must get back in water within ten seconds or you will die.
Easy pointsAn easy way to get points quickly is to go to the open ocean, then go as far south as possible. Start attacking boats until police boats begin arriving. Attack them to get lots of points. Using the Corkscrew attack is recommended, as it deals massive damage and almost certainly sinks the boat. Sinking the boats results in 1,000 points. Blowing up the boat results in 2,000 points.
Recommended use of ability pointsWhen you first get ability points, use them on Health first, then on Speed, Power, Accuracy, and finally Hunger in order. This order lets you get the best attacks and helps complete the free missions easier.
Completing the Angry Armada missionAt the beginning of the level, when it says 'Survive and kill everyone', destroy the helicopter by waiting for it to attempt to rescue someone, then bite it. Do not let go and you will drag it into the water where it will explode. Use the depth charges labeled in green on Jaws's radar to destroy the Coast Guard boat.
Getting rid of Coast Guard ship in Blood On The Beach missionUse the following trick to get rid of the Coast Guard ship that keeps shooting you in front of the bridge and net blocking the lake. Face the bridge and swim at the battery on the left. Jump out of the water and bite and hold the battery. Take the battery as far out into open water as it will go. When it disappears, it will reset back on the beach and the boat will be gone.
Defeating Shamu in Breakout missionEnable the '1 million points' code, then buy all upgrades. When you reach Shamu, use the corkscrew attack to knock him out. Then, keep biting him until he gets up. Keep repeating this strategy until he is defeated.
Completing the Dead Of Night missionIn order to complete this mission, you must grab and hold one barrel from the crew (who are dumping the explosives off the bridge) and toss it into the refinery pipe to the left of the dumping site.
Completing the Predator In The Bay missionWhen you get to the oil tanks, hit them with your head to destroy the machine guns at the top. Then, go under water and hit your head against the four pillars in the middle and the outside. They should fall and explode. Do this three times for all the oil tanks.
An easier method that will cost health, is to take the torpedoes from the submarine on the bottom of the ocean floor. Hold them in your mouth while charging up your attack. Then, go to the pillar and slam your head into it. Do this three times.
To destroy the tankers without losing health, grab a torpedo near the destroyed submarine. Toss the torpedo at the big tubes that hold the tanker up. Do this to two tubes and you will destroy it. Make sure to destroy the turrets. To do this, bite the yellow orb above the turrets.
After destroying the oil platforms, do not pick up any more torpedoes from the sunken sub. Instead, swim into the shipyard and find the grate in the water. Destroy it, and swim in. The metal door will open, allowing Jaws into the power generator room. Destroy the two metal tubes sticking up behind the turbine without touching the turbine fan. If you touch it, you will die. Then you must fight the Coast Guard ship. Use the same torpedoes that you used on the oil platforms and Brody will barely escape.

Easy way around most mines in Thirst For Blood missionWhen you first enter the area, move to the far left and go down. Then, stay against the wall and move through. Next, swim to the next blockade of mines and do the same to it, or if you have your swim level maxed out do a charge out of water and go above the mines.
Finding the divers in Thirst For Blood missionJaws Unleashed Mission 6
When the mission begins, move directly forward and use the Body Slam to jump the mines. Do this a second time. Once you jump over the mines the second time, look to your left. Jump over a small field of mines and you will be in the area where you must kill the divers.
